Edward Cullen is just a kid in a good time in his carrer. Angel (played by the hottest David Boreanaz)is special, romantic, but in the same time a vampire, a fighter. He has a soul, he is charming, the best vampire I ever saw. I am 99% sure that Angel is better than Edward Cullen. Angel went to the hell and back for stay with Buffy. It is a immortal love! Noone can repeat this. Besides I read the book and I think Meyer was inspired from Joss Whedon's vampire.

It may take quite awhile before the "romantic" vampire is retired from the media and books. After all we are in the 21st Century yet there are the modern equivalent of Jane Eyre's Mr. Rochester, Pride and Prejudice's Mr Darcy and Sense and Sensibility's Colonel Brandon roaming about novels and films. There is just something about angst that woman are drawn to but that doesn't exactly explain the appeal to men. I guess men cast themselves in the role of the tortured misunderstood one or the predator. Who knows?

Hehe... Instantly Spike, yes Spike (I loved Angel), as well as Deacon Frost came to mind. Im sort of a fanboy of both. Deacon though is by far the most intriguing "turned" Vamp to me. Oh yeah and a movie is in the works... sweet! See? Fanboy.

I agree the blood letting is overdone. Yes the "money shot" is more often than not a crap shoot but hell the comparison of drinking that Lauren points out is a better comparison even though we know that technically they are feeding.

Shit, I've had a beer, a nice cold beer, after a hard day of good old fashioned American labor and I must admit when the liquid flows down my throat and arrives at its digestive end I let out a exhilarating and often over exaggerated... "Ahhhh" along with a facial expression of "Stay away THIS IS MINE!!!".

Or how about when you take that brewski down the wrong way? Hmmm. Maybe that's it. Taking it in so aggressively that you have to yell out to release the gas bubble sitting right... there... *belches* "Ahhhhhh!"

I still concur though. But I'm so accustomed to the "money shot" that if I don't see blood I'm pissed... "They ain't no real Vampire, I KNOW real Vampires."

This area seems to have a rich history in folklore and knowing you the book will not only be thoroughly researched but well written as well.
